PIV in Fluid Machinery - Regenerative Flow Pump
The Institute of Fluid Machinery (FSM) of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is a long-time costumer of ILA. It owns both, a 15 Hz Stereo-, as well as High-Speed Stereo PIV System.

In a recent study, the High-Speed Stereo System was used to investigate the flow patterns within a regenerative flow pump. Multiple planes with only 4mm axial distance to each other were measured. Using advanced post-processing routines, the 2000 Hz time-resolved measurements per plane could be combined to a time resolved interpretation of the 3D-3C velocity field. Multiple publications illustrate the experiment as well as the used routines.
